As you can imagine, I was really upset and disgusted by what I quickly learned. Not only did I KNOW Lee Asher killed Chevy senselessly — and was worried SICK about how many other animals might have lost their lives in the very same manner (or were about to) — but I was DEVASTATED to see what happened to Liz. This was not turning out to be the beautiful “doggy heaven” on earth that I always expected it to be. 😥
Like you all, I saw some videos here and there — mostly Lee, with a beautiful background (you know, his 240 acres, giant mansion, and the water feature) and his exuberant and enthusiastic “on-camera” image. That’s only what we see, right?! It looked good! I don’t even know why it didn’t dawn on me to use my brain and question how realistic this environment could be. In fact, I am ashamed and mildly embarrassed with all of the years of experience I have working with animals - I blindly assumed this man had the staff and finances to properly care for these dogs. Why didn’t I ask where they all were living!? Could one person REALLY house and care for 200+ animals in a humane manner. When does it turn into hoarding? Just because someone APPEARS to have a large home and big pocketbook, we naturally ASSUME they are living the high life! Well, it’s not always what it seems - now, is it? 🫣🫣🫣
A few minutes of highly edited content and cute music that is crafted perfectly for this media influencer and hit “repeat”. Like clockwork, that’s all Lee Asher posts! Rescue Day! Rescue Day! Rescue Day! Almost EVERY day is RESCUE DAY! Where do all these dogs go!? They are seen on camera once and sometimes never seen again. 😦
I had NO idea how Lee rose to fame SO quickly. He always sold his story as a guy who loved dogs and traveled in an RV with his pal, Luke Barton (during the pandemic), to help promote adoption. Honestly, it seemed quite wholesome and his character fit the bill. Lee Asher knows how to charm the camera and say just the right things. (Little did I know how much his past experiences and mentors would come into play). 😵💫😵💫😵💫 #tonyrobbins #jordanbelfort
The only thing I’m beating myself up over is that I didn’t watch these videos until AFTER Chevy was killed. I knew of Lee Asher but I never followed him. I didn’t watch his stories or social media posts. Had I watched these years back, I would have sniffed this FRAUD out much SOONER!
Another random message appeared on my Instagram… and this article was shared with me. “Have you seen this?” — and, no. I hadn’t. I read the article (linked below) and again, my stomach turned just a little bit more… just what exactly was going on with this place? Killing a dog without ever meeting him (alleging to be the BEST animal sanctuary on earth, yeah right!) — not taking care of an employee that was almost mauled to death by two of Lee’s personal dogs (of one of the most dangerous breeds on the planet) — to now, being investigated by the DOJ (Department of Justice) and having to address “financial delinquencies” and the IRS (late tax filings).
Clearly, something much deeper and cynical is going on with The Asher House. But, what?! I was still needing to find out Chevy’s story and I was looking high and low for any employees or former employees that would speak out. I searched Facebook and sent a few messages with no luck. I did, however, connect with a few incredibly talented people who helped me dive deeper on investigations with Lee’s personal connections, business ventures, finances, real estate portfolio, etc. and I started to build a little JFC team! 🔥😎
